No bare bulbs here
We don’t just toss a bulb in a box and call it a day. These lamps live inside specialized, explosion-proof housings. We use heavy-duty seals and reinforced transitions where the quartz meets the metal. It’s all about keeping those nasty chemical vapors away from the electrical guts of the machine. If you’re dealing with really aggressive corrosives, you’ll want to be picky about your housing materials. We usually stick with 316L stainless steel or specific polymers. Trust me, if a seal leaks, your filament is going to burn out fast.
A few things to keep in mind
Gold-coated lamps are incredible for heat density. You get way more punch per inch. But that power comes with a catch. Since the heat is so concentrated, you have to keep a close eye on your workpiece. If you aren’t careful, you can scorch your parts. Also, these tubes are a bit more delicate. A single crack in that gold layer can create a “hot spot,” and that’ll kill the lamp’s lifespan. My advice? Make sure your mounting brackets have some vibration damping.
